Robot Challenge

Robot Challenge is an international competition for self-made, autonomous, and mobile robots. It has been held annually in Vienna, Austria, since 2004. The event has several categories, such as those for sumo robots, air race and line follower. Although the majority of the categories are competitions, the event also has a freestyle exhibition, where people from all over the world showcase their work in robotics. 
The sumo robot categories vary according to the size and building materials of the robot. The purpose of the competition is to knock the opposing robot out of the ring. The robots cannot be controlled by anyone and must be entirely autonomous. 

In the air race, the competitors are meant to fly through challenges and the winner is determined according to the time and the execution of these challenges. These can be controlled by a person. 

In the line followers competition robots are meant to follow the lines drawn. These robots are also autonomous and the winner is determined according to time. 

This year we are going to enter the mini sumo, line follower and air race competitions with Tesla, line follower and 3Drone, respectively. We are also going to showcase several of our projects, like our electronic orchestra, arcade, maze and roomba.

Robot Challenge yarışmacıların kendilerinin yaptığı, pek çoğu insan tarafından kontrol edilmeyen ve tamamı hareket edebilen robotlar için olan uluslararası bir yarışmadır. 2004 yılından beri her yıl Viyena, Avusturya’da düzenlenmekte ve dünyanın dört bir yanından yüzün üzerinde robot ağırlamaktadır. Yarışmada çeşitli sumo robotları, çizgi izleyenler ve insansız hava araçları için kategoriler vardır. Ayrıca farklı dallardaki çalışmaların sergilenebildiği bir freestyle bölümü de bulunur. 

Sumo robot klasmanları robotun boyut ve yapım materyallerine göre değişir. Yarışmanın amacı karşı tarafın robotunu ringin dışına çıkarmaktır. Robotların herhangi bir şekilde biri tarafından kontrol edilmesi yasaktır.

Çizgi izleyen yarışmasında amaç robotun çizgileri takip ederek parkuru tamamlamaktır. Kazanan zamana göre belirlenir.

Air race (hava yarışı) bölümünde amaç çeşitli engelleri olabilecek en kısa sürede geçmektir. Diğer grupların aksine bu araçlar bir kişi tarafından kontrol edilebilir. 

Bu yıl Hisar CS olarak mini sumo, çizgi izleyen ve air race kategorilerine sırasıyla Tesla, çizgi izleyen ve 3Drone ile katılacağız. Ayrıca freestyle bölümünde elektronik orkestra, oyun konsolu, roomba ve labirent projelerimizi sergilemeyi planlıyoruz.

2015


This year we were at Vienna for the Robot Challenge between the 9th and 12th of April. We competed mainly in the freestyle category with our electronic orchestra, Japanese brocade lantern and drone. We spent the weekend explaining our projects to many who were interested in technology, from children to adults. Our drone in particular garnered much interest, with people wondering how we built it. Another one of our projects that seemed to greatly interest people was the first miniature version of our arcade, which we brought the Vienna to showcase, even though we did not compete with it. It interested many children, while it made many others nostalgic. We also took Tesla, our mini sumo robot, there with us in hopes of competing in the mini sumo category, but were unable to complete it in time. Despite this incident, we still had fun and had the opportunity to meet other robot enthusiasts. We are hoping to repeat this experience next year.
