School Library Media Professional Portfolio

Welcome to my professional portfolio.  My name is Meagan Oakley and I am currently a kindergarten teacher at Folkston Elementary School in Folkston, Georgia.  I received my undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University in 2008 in Early Childhood Education.  I continue to learn and grow as an educator with each passing year, and it is this aspect of my career that has led me to seek a graduate degree in Instructional Technology and School Library Media.  It is my desire to be a lifelong learner and to instill a love of learning in the students that I serve.

This portfolio is a culminating project to showcase the learning experiences I have had the opportunity to participate in as a graduate student.  By clicking the tabs at the top of this page, you can access my philosophy, resume, personal learning network, and blog for the School Library Media Practicum.  Located under the Standards tab, you will see a dropdown menu which contains links to essays describing my journey towards mastery of the ALA/AASL standards.  In addition, you can explore the artifacts and reflections from my learning experiences by using the dropdown menu located under The 5 Roles of the School Library Media Specialist tab.
