Research Interests: Coastal sand dune ecology and restoration, ecology and management of rare plants and non-native plant invasions, fire ecology, plant defense against herbivores, and gall - plant interactions.

Teaching interests: I teach Environmental Biology, Botany, Plant Ecology, and Principles of Biology II lab. I have also taught Study Abroad in Italy (2009, 2014 and 2019) and highly recommend the opportunity!

Personal Interests: I enjoy spending time with my husband, Frank and our boys, Micah and Emory. I love to travel and have been to 5 continents so far. Back at home, we are restoring a 12 acre wetland surrounding our home, removing invasive species and planting back the natives. I am also an occasional musician: I sing in a choir and play the viola.
