The first thing to know is that I am prohibited by the Philosophy Dept. from signing students into this course. You must go through the electronic waitlist system managed by the Registrar's office. If you believe you have special reason to be in the course, even though it's full, you may contact Prof. Karen Stohr, the Asst. Undergraduate Director in the Philosophy Dept. According to Prof. Stohr, you will not get added to the course just by asking her. You need to provide her with dean-verified evidence of a schedule conflict serious enough to warrant bumping you ahead of others on the waitlist.
For those who want to be be prepared for class on Wednesday, Sept. 4th, but don't want to invest in the books until admitted to the course, there is an online version of Dostoyevsky's Notes from Underground available at gutenberg.org here. Read Part I of the novella.
Below you may also find the writing prompt for the first reflection paper, which is due Sept. 4th. Don't write the paper unless you're admitted to the course. Do think about the question, however.
