Alkmaar is a beautiful old town in the province of Noord Holland. In 1573 Alkmaar became the first city in the Netherlands to successfully keep the invading Spaniards out. The cry became 'Victory in Alkmaar!" Our cry now is that there will be spiritual victory in Alkmaar as well!

Exodus 17 tell us of the battle with Amalek. As long as Moses' hands were held up, Israel prevailed, but when he became weary and his hands dropped, Amalek prevailed. In Exodus 17:12 we read, "But Moses' hands were heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other. Thus his hands were steady until the sun set." When you join those of us who are physically here in Alkmaar in prayer for this town, you help to 'hold our hands up' as we engage in the battle!
