  • In terms of media coverage, the 14th Dalai Lama has said on BBC news that “Today, the religion, culture, language and identity, which successive generations of Tibetans have considered more precious than their lives, are nearing extinction - in short, the Tibetan people are regarded like criminals deserving to be put to death.” (BBC News) 
  •  The Olympic Protest against the Chinese Government was also very widely spread in the news and in Newspapers. In recent years, social supports have entered Tibet. 
  • March 10 was sparked by the fiftieth anniversary of Tibet. On that day, Tibetans decided to rise up against the repression caused by the Chinese communist government in Tibet. The Dalai Lama marked that day with a firm speech. He called for a meaningful autonomy of his homeland, and slammed Beijing for bringing untold suffering and destruction to Tibet.
