Welcome to Mr. Bruce's Class

Room: 314

Email: shbruce@gaston.k12.nc.us

Class materials:

  1. Pen/pencil: No student should ever show up to school without one. I will do my best to provide extra material for those special cases.

  2. Binder w/ dividers: many handouts will be given throughout the course. It is expected of you to keep up with all class materials. Notebook checks will be graded.

  3. Headphones for watching instructional videos.

  4. Positive attitude: It will be needed to maintain a productive classroom. You get out of my class what you put into it.

General Rules

  1. Cell phone policy: Stuart W. Cramer adheres to a "off and away" policy. The power of cell phones can be a blessing and a curse. Given the average age/maturity of high school students, my classroom will not allow cell phone use unless clearly stated otherwise, in which case it would become a privilege that could be taken away.

  2. Bathroom use: Students must take a hall pass whenever leaving the classroom. They must log their destination with a date and time.

  3. Tardy Policy: Students are expected to be in the classroom by the time the tardy bell rings and consequences are as follows:

    • 1-3: Warning

    • 4 and up teacher assigned consequences

    • Refusal to serve teacher assigned consequences will result in an administrator referral.

    • Consequences may not be grade punitive.

Students/parents need to have signed: lab safety (given out first day)

Parent/Guardian Contact Information: Please keep your information up to date with the school. I use the information available to me in Powerschool, as it is the most efficient way to find individual contacts, and make large scale contacts with the parents/guardians.
