Who is this Guy Coming to Your Home with a

Hammer in Hand?

Born and raised in Big D, Gary is a life long resident of Texas.  On a youthful adventure before his senior year in high school, Gary went camping at Red River, N.M. for the summer.  While camping, an Industrial Arts teacher from Crane, Tx. (on his summer vacation) hired this young man to help him remodel a cabin.  This is when Gary realized he enjoyed carpentry work and loved helping families improve and enhance their homes.

Upon graduation, Gary attended the local Jr. college.  He finally earned his undergraduate degree from NTSU (now UNT) in Industrial Technology and Architectural Drafting.  Gary helped his parents pay for his education by remodeling homes in Oak Cliff from top to bottom.  This gave him hands on experience with all systems of a house- the plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, structural, foundation, and roof.

While working on these homes, Gary began talking to prospective home buyers.  Thus began his Real Estate career.  After appearing before a judge to remove his “minority”, Gary gained his Real Estate license at age 19 (one normally had to be 21 to get this license at the time).  For years, Gary operated his own Real Estate agency in Plano brokering the sale of hundreds of properties worth millions.

After college, this young graduate served our country in the Air Force.  Awarded a commission, Gary became a global navigator on a transport airplane and was fascinated by the forms of housing he observed all over the world.

After this military stint, Gary entered the business world in Plano by building custom homes.  This new builder designed the homes he built and was intricately involved in all phases of their construction.  One project was featured as the “HAB (Home and Apartment) Home of the Week” in the Dallas Morning News.

In 1993, the decision was made to pursue a Masters Degree.  Dedicating himself to his studies while still building, Gary graduated in 1996 with a M.A. in Counseling.  “You may wonder why I chose counseling.  Remodeling a home is a technical process for the contractor but an emotional process for families.  I found my studies have improved my relationships with homeowners and advanced my craftsmanship as a home remodeler.”

Gary’s approach to remodeling is unique.  As a professional, he discusses all options in advance along with their expected results and associated expenses.  “I choose to tell homeowners the most accurate picture of cost and construction time up front.  Sometimes, what I say is not what people want to hear.  In fact, if homeowners talk to enough contractors or to inexperienced contractors, they may finally “get told” what they want to hear.  However, regardless of who does the work, the feed back I consistently get is that my estimates hold true.”  This Contractor believes clients furnished with the most accurate picture are always the most satisfied customers in the long run.  “Accurate information combined with reasonably adjusted expectations paves the way for smooth relationships, business or otherwise.  You see, I want to be the only remodeler you will ever call or recommend”.

Few people in Dallas can help families achieve their housing goals as Gary.  His career covers the full spectrum of residential Real Estate.  From owning and operating an ERA national franchise Real Estate agency in Plano to building for national homebuilders such as U S Homes to remodeling luxury bathrooms for the American Standard Showroom, his 30 years experience is vast.  “My broad construction, marketing, and design experience tempers my advice to homeowners.”  When you select Gary, you truly choose a professional.
