At the very beginning, I would like to pay my gratitude to my teachers and parents who have been really grateful to me. I give all my credit of success to them. Without them, it won't be easy for me to reach at this stage.
As I come from a far remote village called DOMKHAR (150km away from Leh City). So, from the very beginning, I had to reside in the Lamdon residential hostel. For 12 years, I stayed in the hostel. I was very unfortunate that I became semi-orphan at the age of three and missed the love and care of my mother, but my father never let me feel less cared and offered me all sorts of facilities that I required at different times. Now, I have a stepmother and two step brothers. All of us are looked after by our father. Being from a middle class family and a government employee, it is a big burden on him to send me in a good school outside Ladakh. When the principal sir told me that I was chosen for the scholarship, I felt God has come for my help.
In the year 1991, I was admitted in Lamdon School, since then I have topped every class with high scores. Being in the hostel and school for 12 years, I maintained myself according to the school discipline. Apart from the academic field, I've participated in the extra curricular activities held at the school as well as outside school. Because of my hardwork and good attitude towards my school, I've been fortunate enough to be the best student of the year 2000. During this year 2003, I served Lamdon School as the Head girl in maintaining its discipline and rules.
Lamdon social welfare society is a pioneer in the field of education in Ladakh and it has contributed in providing quality education to the children of Ladakh for more than three decades. I dream to serve the organisation in achieving its devised objectives. Getting chance to study in Mahindra International United World College Pune would lead me to my hopes and expectations.
Ladakh is a neglected region from the J&K state and also from the centre government. I feel it is important to have a correct sense of education so that the ignored region of Ladakh be on the line of progress and development in a scientific and socially unharmed manner. I hope I will be a good citizen in serving Ladakh.
I really feel honoured by this scholarship. It's great to get such chance of studying in Mahindra U.W.C. Pune. It has been the most fascinating moment of my life. I feel this has happened because of my hardwork in the past. This scholarship will help me in working harder in achieving my aims and objectives. I am very grateful to all whoever is involved in giving me this scholarship.
