My second year at MUWCI is full of enthusiasm and optimistic for my EE and IAs along with my studies. The first year at Mahindra taught me so much and even alter my beliefs and widen my opinions. By reflecting on the ups and downs of the previous year I can see the change in myself, its change a fixed mindset to a growth mindset.
I had a great quality time in Ladakh this year. I tried to spread the values, ideas and the knowledge that I gained form a UWC school. I worked in LAMDON for a month where I go to the classes and shared my experiences in UWC Mahindra and also tried to teach what I learn from here. After school I gave extra classes to the hostelers where I taught Mathematics and Science to them. I also tried to spread information about the INC (Indian National Committee) procedures for the admission to UWC both inside and outside LAMDON. I also went to some of the Government schools in and around my village, where I selected some students from 6th to 9th grades who are good at studies and told them about UWC and the opportunities. So that they could prepare from now. I personally met with some of their parents, most of them were poor and illiterate who had no idea about the future of their children. I want to continue this and one of my aim is to get at least one student in UWC through INC. People hardly knows about UWC and INC. From next year I want to work on this project more formally.
All this opportunities that I am getting is all because of you UWCSEA. I am very thankful to you all and I always try my best to use this opportunity to the extreme fullest. Its good to hear that you are going to Ladakh this October and I think its very good for the one who will get selected for the scholarship so that he/she will get more than enough time to prepare for studying in an international school, Please let me know about him/her, so that I can aware him/her about the challenges he/she will face here and how to prepare for them mainly the language.

Apologise for the delay, due to bombardments of tests and assignments I was not able to send you the reflection earlier. However now the first term is very close to its end and thesedays we are having sports tournament called 'MUWCI OLYMPIC' and I am participating in almost all the sports and representing as the captain of my team in football, handball and volleyball. In the next para I am going to reflect on my first term.
The first term was very challenging but encountered and experienced lots of life changing situations in the diverse community. Being from a disadvantage education background it was very hard to catch the pace in the beginning. Due to language barrier and lack of confidence I could not speak up in the classes and also in other sessions like 'This is India'(Global Affairs) and 'college meetings'. But due to consistence reading and touching the chapters after the school hours enhance my confidence and things are getting better with the passage of time. However I know that its not enough and still I have to do a lot and in some classes like Physics, I am suffering the most due to lack of basic concept. Some of the other stuffs like Lab reports which is completely new to me takes more time to understand. At the end of the term we are getting feedbacks from our teachers which I really appreciate and will try my best to improve my drawbacks.

Today Im glad to share my first impression of UWC.
So the first week was the orientation week with full of activities and games. I was surprised to see people from different parts of the globe with various cultures and backgrounds living together in a campus with so much of love and affection. Its really a wonderful environment of unity, love and also a splendid spot to gain knowledge and the genuine education. I met with my second year Stanzin and all because of her I didn't have to suffer to settle and its too easy for me to mixed up with my new family (UWC).
Sometimes I think that I m fortunate to get the opportunity to study in such a great college but when I think deeply about it and by seeing the reality its all because of you and UWCSEA. How can I be so fortunate? How can a boy from a remote area of Ladakh can be so fortunate without LAMDON and UWCSEA?
I strongly believe that you all are the real superstars and heroes, who are making afforts to unite the world, making it a better place to live in and also giving wings to the dreams of students from remotes area of ladakh like me.
I don't understand how can I will pay for your supports, I m really grateful to you all. I also want to become like you all and want to serve my society and even the world if I can.
regards
Sonam
