My Goal

My goal is to support students in order to help each student become an independent and enthuasiastic reader/writer.  I also want to help my students feel confident about themselves as readers, writers and thinkers.

Reading Recovery

I also teach Reading Recovery lessons to four first graders. Reading Recovery is a research-based intervention that is designed to help struggling readers in first grade make accelerated progress. Reading Recovery students meet with me individually for 30 minutes everyday. During these lessons the students work hard! They are constantly reading, writing, and working with words and/or letters. For more information on how to support your Reading Recovery student at home, please see the home expectations link.  Happy Reading!

Small Groups

If your child works with me in a small group, we meet daily for 30 minutes to work on reading, writing and word study.  The small groups are called LLI groups, which stands for Leveled Literacy Intervention.  LLI is a research-based intervention program designed to help students make accelerated progress in reading.  Please see the home expectations link in order to find out more about how you can support your budding reader at home! Happy reading!!
