Day 1 Keynote: Ken Shelton

Ken currently holds a M.A. in Education, with a specialization in New Media Design and Production. He has worked as an educator for 9 years and currently teaches technology at the Middle School level. As a part of his active involvement within the Educational Technology community, Ken is a Google Certified Teacher, an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Discovery STAR Educator, and a member of the Discovery Educator Network California Leadership Council. Ken was also recently appointed to the California Superintendent of Public Instruction’s Educational Technology Task Force.  Ken regularly gives presentations and leads workshops, many of which are hands on, covering a wide variety of educational technology, technology integration, creative expression, and instructional design topics.

Day 2 Keynote: Holly Clark

Holly Clark is a technology and innovation specialist from San Diego, California. She has been helping teachers redefine instruction in their classrooms by overseeing both 1:1 iPad and Chromebooks pilots and helping schools implement digital literacy programs. She is a Google Certified Teacher, National Board Certified Teacher, and holds an MA in Technology in Education from Columbia University. She has been working with technology integration and 1:1 environments since 2003. Presently she consults with schools internationally on improving their iPad integration and using Google Apps for Education to empower learning. Holly has taught for over 16 years and is a former administrator.

James Sanders
James Sanders currently oversees innovation for KIPP Schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. Previously, James served as a Presidential Innovation Fellow at the White House working on education Open Data Initiatives. He was the founder of the White House Film Festival (showcasing technology in education) and supported the development of the President’s postsecondary agenda. At KIPP Schools James manages the region’s blended learning and technology integration initiatives. 

James ran the first Google Play for Education pilot at KIPP Bridge Charter School, in a partnership with Android. James taught history in both Los Angeles and San Francisco and pioneered a paperless classroom run 100% online. In addition to his work at KIPP, James co-founded ClassBadges, a website that helps teachers shift to accomplishment-based grading. James also served as a project manager for YouTube EDU and his work for Google included creating YouTube Teachers, YouTube for Schools, and managing K-12 content curation.

Chris Bell

Chris Bell currently serves as the District Coordinator of Instructional Technology for Saddleback Valley Unified School District in
Southern California. In this capacity, he oversees the instructional technology implementations in the district including mobile device initiatives, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) classrooms, and online learning. He currently teaches computer programming for middle/high school students, Leading Edge Certification courses for the online teacher, and is adjunct faculty for the University of La Verne School of Teaching and Educational Leadership.

Chris is a Google Certified Teacher, Google Apps EDU Certified Trainer, a Lead Learner for the CUEtoYOU Speakers Bureau, Orange County CUE Board President, and co-chair of CUE/iNACOL's e-Learning SIG (eLSIG). He is also a sitting member of several advisory boards with a focus towards online & blended learning. Chris is a core member of EdTechTeam and serves as the Director of Online Learning.

Mitch Dowhower

Mitch Dowhower headshot
Mitch Dowhower is a Technical Deployment Consultant from Iowa that has assisted school districts with educational technology over the last 8 years.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems and a master’s degree in organizational management.  Mitch is a Google Certified Trainer and Google Certified Administrator.

Mitch is employed by Amplified IT and directly assists school districts with Google Apps for Education deployments, resolving technical issues, providing technical training, and assisting with technology rollouts such as Chromebook deployments.

Since 2008, Amplified IT has assisted hundreds of educational institutions worldwide to successfully adopt Google Apps and ChromeBooks. Amplified IT is a Google Authorized Vault and ChromeBook reseller, and has close ties to the Google Edu Team and various vendors in the GAFE Sector.

Chris Moore

Chris Moore, a Google Certified Teacher, Google Educator, and recipient of the National School Board Association's Technology & Leadership Network "20 To Watch" award has been an elementary classroom teacher for over ten years. He has been 
a presenter at conferences and professional development events at the local, state, and international levels. Mr. Moore earned his B.A. degree in Elementary Education at Adams State College, and his M.A. in Information and Learning Technology at the University of Colorado, Denver. He has been learning and teaching in a 1:1 Linux netbook environment for the last six years.
