Chris Bell

Chris Bell currently serves as the District Coordinator of Instructional Technology for Saddleback Valley Unified School District in
Southern California. In this capacity, he oversees the instructional technology implementations in the district including mobile device initiatives, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) classrooms, and online learning. He currently teaches computer programming for middle/high school students, Leading Edge Certification courses for the online teacher, and is adjunct faculty for the University of La Verne School of Teaching and Educational Leadership.

Chris is a Google Certified Teacher, Google Apps EDU Certified Trainer, a Lead Learner for the CUEtoYOU Speakers Bureau, Orange County CUE Board President, and co-chair of CUE/iNACOL's e-Learning SIG (eLSIG). He is also a sitting member of several advisory boards with a focus towards online & blended learning. Chris is a core member of EdTechTeam and serves as the Director of Online Learning.

Chris Craft

Dr. Christopher Craft is an award-winning educator and speaker based in South Carolina. As a classroom teacher,  he has been recognized both locally and nationally for innovative teaching with technology. Most recently he was named to the National School Board Association’s “20 to Watch” list for 2013. He has a B.A. in Spanish, a M.Ed in Educational Technology, and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Research from the University of South Carolina. Chris is a Google Certified Teacher, and a Google Certified Trainer, and was recently accepted to be an Apple Distinguished Educator.

Ben Friesen
Benjamin Friesen is a Digital Content Specialist in the Hopkins Public Schools in Minnesota. Benjamin taught science for 7 years and now focuses on professional development and directly supporting teachers in his district. He is a Google Certified Teacher and a Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer and looks forward to every opportunity he has to try and inspire other educators to connect their students to the world around them. Benjamin is also a co-founder of Flipped Education, a professional development company focused on using technology to help foster and amplify the learning process.

Wendy Gorton

Wendy Gorton is an enthusiastic Google Certified Teacher, Google Apps EDU Certified Trainer, and lifelong learner. Currently, she is a 5th grade social studies teacher and technology developer in New York City. She has taught 4th graders in Los Angeles, and has been an elementary technology coordinator, a university technology specialist, an online teacher, a curriculum developer, and a research assistant. She is passionate about project-based learning and using technology like Google Apps to open her students up to collaboration and to the world! She is particularly passionate about international education, and was recently based out of India as a secondary technology integrator at an American school. She loves working with international teachers to find out how technology can make learning come alive for their students. She has been a conference and webinar presenter for ISTE and CUE, and she has lead  educational workshops in Canada, the US, Jamaica, Austria, and the Czech Republic - on topics such as Google Apps, iPad applications in the classroom, professional development, curriculum development, project-based learning, grant-writing, and global collaboration.

Her Master's degree is in educational technology. Her research focused on exploring how real-world science projects using technology increased student motivation. She is interested in research experiences for teachers, and has helped bring the world of science and social studies to her students as an NOAA Teacher at Sea, Earthwatch Educator Fellow, PolarHusky Teacher Explorer, JR Teacher at Sea, National Geographic Challenge Teacher, NEH Fellow, and participant in a wide range of projects - from learning archaeology in Wisconsin, and helping build shelters for sick Tasmanian devils in Australia, to dog-sledding in Scandinavia. She enjoys reaching out and volunteering with international organizations, and currently is collaborating with teacher education projects in Jamaica and Nepal.

Peter Henrie

Peter Henrie has spent the last decade leading and supporting large scale system implementation and integration projects. He originally got involved with Google Apps for Education on Higher Education deployments in the UK such as University of St Andrews. Over the last 2 years he has been assisting schools across VA to deploy Google Apps and ensuring they get the most out of the platform.

Tim Lee

Tim Lee is an IT and EdTech Consultant based in Virginia. After 8 years of years leading
 infrastructure re-design projects and laptop rollouts across public sector clients in the UK for BT, Microsoft and a number of other leading IT consultancies, Tim moved into the Education space. 

Tim has focused on Google Apps since 2009 when he lead the first adoption in Higher Ed (University of St Andrews) in Scotland. After moving to Virginia in 2010, he's been providing a Virtual CIO service to help schools re-design their infrastructure. As a Google Apps Edu Certified Trainer and part of the  Google Chromebook Crew for Education, Tim has assisted numerous schools adopt Google Apps and rollout ChromeBooks.

Tim is the founder of Amplified IT, a Google Apps Consultancy and Meraki Reseller company based in Hampton Roads, VA. Amplified IT is excited to be the first Authorized ChromeBook Reseller in the South!

Monica Martinez

Monica Isabel Martinez is the Director of Professional Development in Latin America and Southern US for the EdTech Team. In this position, Monica develops and facilitates professional development on the most current technology trends for the purpose of improving teaching and learning through innovative processes. She has developed many technology programs some of which have been adopted by districts, universities, and others that have been rolled out state-wide. Monica has experience teaching students and professionals at all levels including elementary, secondary, and higher education while working in the US, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Canada and Germany. Monica has a master’s degree in Educational Technology and is also a Google Apps EDU Certified Trainer and Administrator. 






James Sanders

James Sanders is a classroom teacher at KIPP: San Francisco Bay Academy.  He was one of the first educators in the country to bring Chromebooks into his classroom. Through Google Apps, YouTube and other cloud-based tools, James has created a dynamic blended-learning environment for his students that demands collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.

In addition to his role in the classroom, James is a project manger for YouTube on EDU initiatives.  Since joining YouTube, his projects include YouTube Teachers, the YouTube Teachers’ Studio, and YouTube for Schools.   

James consults for both schools and companies on matters of education technology.  He specializes in helping schools leverage web-based tools to increase rigor and student engagement.

Molly Schroeder

Molly Schroeder is a Global Digital Learning Specialist, Google Certified Teacher and Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer. She presents nationally and internationally at conferences, workshops and conventions on how to integrate Google Apps and other emerging technologies into learning. She tries to model Moonshot Thinking and Living in Beta to transform learning for teachers and students. Her background is in Elementary Education and she also holds a certificate in Educational Technology and Gifted Education. She is the Director of Staff Development and Programming with the EdTechTeam.

Ken Shelton

Ken currently holds a M.A. in Education, with a specialization in New Media Design and Production. He has worked as an educator for 9 years and currently teaches technology at the Middle School level. As a part of his active involvement within the Educational Technology community, Ken is a Google Certified Teacher, an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Discovery STAR Educator, and a member of the Discovery Educator Network California Leadership Council. Ken was also recently appointed to the California Superintendent of Public Instruction’s Educational Technology Task Force. Ken regularly gives presentations and leads workshops, many of which are hands on, covering a wide variety of educational technology, technology integration, creative expression, and instructional design topics.

Jim Sill

After almost a decade in the video and television industry, Jim Sill hung up his producer hat and embarked on a career in education. Using his industry experience, he created an award winning video production program at El Diamante High School in Visalia, CA. By involving students in real world video projects, they garnered awards and recognition at the local, state, and national level. With experience producing local television and industrial videos for non-profit organizations, many of his former students now work in the industry.

As a Google Certified Teacher, Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Apps Certified Trainer and Apple Certified Trainer, Jim travels the world leading professional development workshopson topics that include Using Video for Social Change, Cinematic Narrative Techniques, Encouraging a Creative Student, Google in the Classroom and much more. Today, Jim is an Educational Technology Consultant and works with educators around the world.

In 2012, Jim was featured on Edutopia and their Teach2Learn series for his work in Building Career Skills in Video Production. He was also awarded The Computer Using Educator (CUE) Outstanding Teacher Award in 2009 and nominated for the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Outstanding Teacher Award.

Lisa Thumann

Formerly a K-6 technology teacher, Lisa Thumann has been with the Center for Mathematics, Science and Computer Education at Rutgers University in New Jersey since 2002. As the Center's Senior Specialist in Educational Technology, Lisa facilitates professional development sessions on campus as well as travels throughout New Jersey going into districts helping teachers integrate technology into their classrooms. Her focus for the Center is her 21st Century Learning Initiative and helping teachers to develop and participate in their personal learning networks. Lisa also presents at State and National conferences such as Alan November's Building Learning Communities and ISTE (formally NECC). You can find her speaking for the 
NJ Association for Educational Technology and the NJ Educational Computing Cooperative. She has been the Keynote presenter for theNJEA Technology Institutes, the NJETI 2010 Annual Conference and in November 2010 she will keynote at the NYAIS Education and Information Technology Conference.  Lisa has presented at the last six Google Teacher Academies and is a Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer.

Michael Wacker

A former elementary teacher, Michael has since served as online learning specialist on the student and adult learning side, online professional development coordinator, blended learning program manager, and currently with Ed Tech Team as the Director of Professional Development. 

With more than six years of progressively responsible experience in eLearning and Blended Learning, he is consulted around ideas of strategic design and innovation in public and private schools internationally to support the professional development and redesign of classrooms, pedagogy, and traditional instructional models, to better serve all learners. Michael's current role as Director of Professional Development with Ed Tech Team allows and supports his passion for adult and child learning, while allowing him to work and learn globally alongside tremendous teachers, leaders, and thinkers. Whenever possible Michael also serves as an adjunct professor for Regis University in Colorado on the online and face to face side. 

Michael's strengths are in helping to maximize learning opportunities through the design of dynamic spaces (online and face to face) of interaction, inquiry, and engagement for students, teachers, and administrators. Dedicated to educational innovation, he strives to utilize best practice eLearning techniques and leverage a pedagogy and technology that allows for anywhere, anytime learning. 

Michael Wacker is a Google Certified Teacher, and Certified Google Apps Trainer. Based out of Colorado, Michael leads workshops and consults internationally with his focus the Rocky Mountain region throughout the U.S. and Canada. Michael provides energetic, interactive, and productive workshops and trainings which are customized for each organization. He has experience working with administrators, educators, IT, and also support staff.

Mark Wagner, Ph.D.
Formerly a high school English teacher, Dr. Mark Wagner has since served as an educational technology coordinator at the site, district, and county levels. He now serves as President and CEO of the EdTechTeam, which provides professional development and consulting services to learning institutions, non-profits, and for-profit entities around the world.

In this capacity, Dr. Wagner leads a series of Google Apps for Education Summits around the globe in partnership with Google in Education. He was the director of the Google Teacher Academy and the Google Workshops for Educators by Computer Using Educators (CUE) from 2008-2012. He has also been the professional development coordinator for CUE, the educational technology coordinator for the California League of Schools (CLS), the director of professional development for California Vision Technologies (CVT), and the provider of the technology module for Orange County’s Administrator Training Program. In addition, he works directly with school districts, independent schools, and other organisations that provide educational products and services.

Mark Wagner has a Ph.D. in Educational Technology and a master’s degree in cross-cultural education. His doctoral research focused on the use of video games in education, and specifically on the potential applications of massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) as constructivist learning environments.
