Camán Abú in Croke Park
Liam O'Reilly has organised Peil Abú and Camán abú in Athlone AIT at 7PM on thursday evenings. These are fun versions of hurling and football for adults with no contact and mixed teams. They are aimed at anyone that has stopped playing, never had the chance to play or just wants to have some fun on a summer evening. Last Sunday a team from Athlone was selected to represent Athlone at half time in the minor game at Croke park. Well done to all who participated including our own Martin Carey who came out of retirement to keep a clean sheet with some spectacular saves. Peil Abú and Camán abú continues this Thursday. Please contact Liam O'Reilly at 086- 3345958 or turn up at 7PM.

Friendly win over Roscommon gaels
Our junior team had a good win over Roscommon gaels on a scoreline of 2-14 to 3-8 last Saturday the 6th. Conor Foley put in a man of the match display scoring 1-4. He set the tone of the evening early on with a wonderful volleyed goal in the early minutes. Tom McHugh also hit an excellent goal when he finished a long solo run with a stinging shot to the top corner. With Tony O'Keeffe scoring many long range points we were comfortable for long periods in the match. However 2 quickfire goals from Roscommon brought them back into it in the second half and it took Conor Foley and Gavin's 2 late points to seal the win. Our next championship match is on August the 16th away to Cullion. Adult training for our Junior team takes place Mondays and Thursdays at 8:00PM in Pairc Chiaran Athlone.  All are welcome to join in the training.

Nursery Fun Hurling Training for all under 6's, continues as usual on Tuesday at 6.30 and Saturday at 3 in Páirc Chiaran. Hurls and Helmets provided. All welcome.
