Southern Gaels Golf Classic
Our Golf Classic for this year will be held on June Bank Holiday Monday 4/6/2012 on the Moate Golf course.
Under 16
Our under 16 team continued the i r championship preparation with a challenge versus Lusmagh.  Lusmagh ran out winners by 7 points. For Southern Gaels Shane Galvin, J Farrell, A Garvey and J Finucann all played very well. The under 16s next game is Monday night versus Turin. Training after school on wednesday in GAA till 5.30 and Saturday morning 10.15 till 12.00.
Under 14
Our U14s played Wolfe Tones in Edgeworthstown on Friday night. Despite a particular brave fight in the 2nd half, we were defeated by 4-8 to 3pts by the home team.
Things didn't go particularly well in the first half and the half time score was 4-5 to 3pts.
This very young team where the vast majority are underage again next year showed great courage in a much tighter 2nd half.
While defeated, the effort of each team member was definitely worthy of praise.
Aaron Murphy made some great saves in the goal. The backs while under a lot of pressure defended their goal well.
Team as follows: Aaron Murphy, Killian Hanniffy, Adam Connell, Jack Kearney, Kevin Dolan, Andrew Kennedy, Sean O'Dowd, Myles Duffy, Gary Fitzpatrick, Mullolly, Stephen Lonergan, Paul Rush, Conor O'Driscoll.
