40th Anniversary Celebrations
The celebrations last Saturday were a huge success with five matches played and a crowd of over 200 at the barbecue and club presentations later that night.
The Under 10 team won the inaugural Frank Young Tournament defeating Castletown Geoghegan in an exciting game.

After the match Emily Young presented the cup, in memory of former Chairman Frank Young, to Cian Mc Carthy of Southern Gaels.

The newly crowned county Junior champions defeated Turin in the Maher Cup on a scoreline of 0-20 to 1-4. There were some fine performances especially from Martin Geary at corner forward. Martin was also this weekend awarded Club person of the year for 2012.
Unfortunately the minor side had to give second best to a strong Padraig Pearse's side from Roscommon . This high scoring John Martin Cup saw many goals with the final score 6-9 to 5-8 for the Roscommon side. Player of the match was the excellent Killian Coyle of Southern Gaels.

Under 16 'B' Championship semi-final
Cullion  4-8   Southern Gaels  3-8
Despite leading by 1-5 to 0-5 at half time Gaels had to give second best to Cullion in the second half.  Three goals midway through the half put the Mullingar side on the road to victory despite a late Gaels goal from a penalty by Sean Dowd.
Team: Breen Elliott, Cathal Mc Givern, Eoin Meaney, Tiernan Powell, Fergus Gronendykk, David Jacob, Dermot Treacy (0-3), Fionn Dowd (0-2), Joe Finnucane, Conor Devaney, Darragh Coyle, Austin Murphy (1-1) Sean Dowd (2-2)
