 Under 10 hurling
Very strong performance by U10 team against Clonkill side last Saturday in Pairc Chiaran, Southern Gaels were leading with 5 min left in the game but Clonkill managed to finish strong with three scores to give them a win by two scores.
Overall this was the best performance by the U10 team to date as more and more players show increased skill levels, U10 next match in Athlone on 20th Aug v St Oliver Plunketts , this is the last round of the U10 Tournament before the Finals planned for the end of August.
There were 2 U10 games played (9 a side).
Final score in game 1 was 9-3 to 5-5 in favour of Clonkill.
Final score in game 2 was 4-0 (Clonkill) to 0-4 (SG). In the U10 tournament goals and points count as the same so this game ended in a draw.

 U14  hurling
The U14's played Brownstown in Division 2. Brownstown struggled to field a full team so an 11 aside game was played. Southern Gaels proved much too strong for this encounter and easily ran out comprehensive winners.
Next game scheduled is against Delvin in Delvin on Thursday, August 25th.
Training continues on Monday evenings from 7pm - 8.15 and Saturday mornings from 10am to 11.45.
