Junior Championship
We lost out in the semi final of the Junior B championship on a score of Southern Gaels 0-10 to Oliver Plunketts 1-10 last Saturday the 13th. Best on the day for Southern Gaels was Ciaran Duncan who starred at full back when we were under pressure in the first half. After a slow start we recovered in the second quarter. When we did threaten it was through John Stapelton who led the attack well, Ronan Farrell who was lively in the corner forward position and Trevor Farrell who anchored the centre of the defence. We were 7-5 down at half time and it was nip and tuck in the second half until Oliver Plunketts' goal pushed them 1-10 to 0-7 clear. The team showed great heart from this position ,  scoring the last 3 points and were unlucky not to get the goal that might have taken the match to a replay. Best of luck to a very good Oliver Plunketts team in the final.
The club extends it's thanks to Brendan Keogh and Vera Corcoran for all their time and effort managing the adult team this year. The team met on over 70 occasions and really performed well in what is a very competitive championship.
