Welcome to the Family and Consumer Science Department at Church Hill Middle School. I am happy to welcome your student into Skills for Living, Principles of Human Services, and College and Career Readiness. Each of these classes prepares young people for real-life situations.

A little bit about me. I grew up in West Texas and received my Bachelors degree of Education at Abilene Christian University in 1986. I began my teaching career as a High School Home Economics teacher. I have taught second grade, worked as a Nutritionist with the Health Department in the W.I.C program, taught at Canyon Middle School, coached girls athletics, taught 6th grade Science and Youth Leadership. This is my thirteenth year at CHMS.

My children, Landa 24 (Graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Master's in Education, married, lives in Dallas area), Landry 22 (Student at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, married), Luke 20, (Sophomore at Texas A & M) and Lacy 16, (Junior and drum major in the Canyon High School band), dictate how I spend my "free time". We stay busy with CHS band activities, sporting events, outdoor activities and family time.

Three of my children are graduates of Comal ISD. I am very committed to this district and feel we are very fortunate to have such an awesome district!

Teacher / Parent communication is vital in making this year a success. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, I encourage you to contact me. The best way to reach me is through e-mail; however you may call the school during my conference time. I am looking forward to a productive and enjoyable year!
