Welcome to my website
My Name is Yifei Mu. I am a Ph.D graduate at the John E. Walker Department of Economics, Clemson University. I recently completed all the requirements for graduation, majoring in International Trade.
My fields of interest are International Economics, Financial Economics, Open Economy Macroeconomics and Empirical Study on Auction and Bidding.
My current research focuses on investigating the correlation between banking crises and bilateral trade flows. It includes two parts: First part uses annual data from 1976 to 2008 for 173 countries, to analyze the correlation between banking crises and bilateral trade flow fluctuations and disentangles the effects into impacts on importers and impacts on exporters. Second part decomposes the bilateral trade flow into extensive margin and intensive margin and analyzes the banking crises’ impact on different margins.
I will be available for interviews at the ASSA meeting in Philadelphia in January 2014.
