Welcome to my website! My name is Richard Gearhart and I am a 5th year Ph.D. student at Clemson University, graduating in May 2014.

I have a primary field in Public Economics and secondary fields in Labor Economics and Applied Econometrics. My research interests are Health Economics and Public Economics.

My current research examines efficiency rankings across aggregated groups; OECD countries and American states. I am also deriving a theoretical model to explain obesity and diabetes health trends in the United States over time.

In my spare time, I like to read, play soccer and football, and spend time with my family (a wife and 2 Yorkshire Terriers, Caesar and Belle).

I will be attending and presenting at the SEA seminar in November 2013 as well as available for interview at the ASSA meetings in Philadelphia in January 2014.

Please feel free to look around my site.
