Dr. Weisenmiller and I met in the Godfrey press lab this morning. We reviewed the brand standards for Clemson University and used a densitometer to match ink colors in accordance with the brand guidelines set by the school. We then mounted plates for my 2-color notepads, and inked up the press. We had to do some maintenance, involving setting ink and dampening roller pressure, and then we were ready to begin our run. We set up the feeder system, and ran set-up sheets to fix registration errors. We had a skew issue with our orange plate, but he showed me how to fix it. We also worked with moving the paper to fit the cylinder lines, and continued to run the job. After we ran all of our stock, we cleaned the press and finished our day. Attached are pictures of my press work.

Also, I have been preparing for intern employer day. My intern employer forms are filled out and printed, and I have revamped my portfolio to cater more towards getting the printing internship I desperately need for next semester. Also, I finally got my recommendation letter for the Golden Key Honor Society Scholarship, and I got accepted into the Calhoun Honors College here at Clemson. I now have to complete at least 12 credit hours of honors level graphic communications classes at the honors level, and I will graduate with departmental honors. I will be taking most of these over the Summer I semester, which is May 15-June 24, then of course heading off to Germany on June 28. Luckily, all of this means I will be fresh out of a printing internship and summer courses that include presswork when I go to WorldSkills, so I should have a competitive edge. I am very excited about all of the opportunities that are opening up for me.
