Everyone loves to take pictures and video, but very few people know how to edit or modify their digital images once they have captured it. As part of a project here at work I was asked to develop a couple of classes on video editing software.
Later we had faculty ask us about screen capture software. Several applications are available that allow you to capture your screen. Camtasia was the first one that came to my mind as I created training videos with this software at Datastream Systems before I came to Clemson. So we developed a class on this software and then decided to also create a class that uses a free screen capture tool. Techsmith the creator's of Camtasia were in the process of creating a new product and had created Project Jing to test the new product. Jing allows users to create screen capture images and videos of their computer screen and share them across the web for free.
I created this site to share with you resources that are available for capturing video. I began with resources that are available at Clemson and included free resources you can find on the web. Also included are products you may have to purchase. This site will incorporate links to websites that discuss video capture techniques, free software to capture video into your computer, hardware that can be used to capture video, screen capture software, video conversion software and other resources. I encourage you to check out my Delicious site to find additional resources that I have bookmarked regarding video, free video tools, podcasting, vodcasting, free audio tools, etc.
