Women in Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital

Our mission is to create a community that enables women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams by providing resources and support in the form of networking, coaching, and financing.

These events are open to all Fuqua women interested in entrepreneurship, ranging from those who are currently starting companies to those who are seeking intrapreneurial roles at large corporations.  This group provides exposure to a wide range of entrepreneurial ranging from small business, non-profits, to companies with a  technology/medical focus.

Current programming includes:


Wine nights: Come to a circle discussion with an experience woman entrepreneur or VC.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the excitement and challenges associated with starting a business. Also, enjoy an chance to meet other Fuqua women who are interested in pursuing entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial careers.

Entrepreneurship in Action trips:

isit women founded/owned business in the Durham area.  Learn more about how these ventures were started and developed, and the lifestyle associated with being an entrepreneur. 



Duke Start-Up Challenge Women's Track:
Start-up teams that are both led by a woman who is a Duke student may compete in the Women's track of the Duke Start-Up Challenge (DSC) if the pitch is delivered by a woman Duke student in every track that in which the team competes.  The DSC is a great opportunity to gain feedback on your business idea/plan and to compete for prize money to help you start your business!  Please see the Duke Start-Up Challenge website for more information.
