Dr. Victoria Brookhart Costa has over 30 years of experience teaching chemistry, mathematics, and education at the secondary, community college, and university levels.  With extensive expertise in state and national STEM education reform efforts, Vikki has served as Principal Investigator for over $3M in federal and state grants and contracts, and her work to design programs that better prepare STEM teachers and teachers educators for 21st century digital learning environments was recently showcased at the 2011 California State University System Education Summit in Irvine, CA. 

In addition to her work in science and math education, Vikki focuses on teacher training, research, and project design and implementation of the use of technology to improve teaching and learning. She is Google Apps Education Qualified, consults for NASA and Intel Education, and has traveled throughout the United States and to Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Egypt, and Portugal to provide professional development in educational technologies to university faculty and K-12 classroom teachers.  

The recipient of state and national recognition for her research and innovative teacher education projects, Vikki has published in the International Journal of University Teaching and Faculty DevelopmentJournal of Curriculum Studies, Journal of College Science Teaching, Science Education, International Journal of Science Education, Issues in Teacher Education, Teacher Education Quarterly, and Journal of Research in Science Teaching, and is co-author of Secrets to Success for Science Teachers



Vikki's new role as the TITANium Faculty Coordinator will involve her in Fullerton's new Course Management System.  One of the major objectives of her role during 2011-12 will be to help 200 full and part-time faculty transition from Blackboard to TITANium Moodle.  Vikki's focus is on how to use TITANium and other digital tools and resources to support traditional, hybrid, and online instruction.
