Fuller's Pastoral Care Team Chaplains are available to support you in your spiritual growth through prayer, pastoral care, and spiritual formation opportunities. The office for the Pastoral Care Team is located in Kreyssler Hall (on the second floor, above the Catalyst). In the past, students have seen a chaplain for pastoral care and prayer related to vocational discernment, challenges in relationships, spiritual questions and concerns, academic stress, and referral to a spiritual director or therapist.

Courtney Bacon, Chaplain
Courtney Bacon has a diverse academic training from Oral Roberts
University, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Fuller. She is beginning
her fifth year as a doctoral student in New Testament studies. She has
extensive college ministry experience, teaches as an adjunct professor
in the School of Theology, and volunteers in local prayer ministry.
Kimberly Varner, Chaplain
Kimberly Varner is originally from Florida, and currently lives in
Pasadena. She is in the process of finishing her doctoral studies at the
School of Psychology, and is completing a Masters of Divinity in
Theology. Kim’s interests are pastoral care and counseling,
cross-cultural studies, music, and spending time with family and
Aline Gram, Chaplain for Vocational Discernment
Aline Gram graduated from Fuller with an MDiv and is a candidate for
ordination with the PC(USA) church. She also completed a year-long
chaplaincy residency at Holy Cross Hospital, which is part of Providence
Health and Services, a Catholic health care system. Aline is originally
from Boston but moved to L.A. over ten years ago and originally worked
in the film industry. Her interests lie in the arts, history,
spirituality, and pastoral counseling.
Jimmy Tan, Chaplain
Jimmy Tan, an ordained minister with the Presbyterian Church in
Singapore, is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the School of
Intercultural Studies. He is married to Soh Kwan and they have three
daughters. His research focuses on how being under spiritual guidance
impacts one's exercise of spiritual leadership. Besides being passionate
about the pastoral ministry, Jimmy enjoys time with his family and
friends, and on occasion, a good round of golf.
