2X2 Reading Program
It's easy to join in the fun - just read or listen to all 20 books reading list at home, at school, or in the library and keep track of your reading by completing a 2x2 Coloring Sheet.
When you finish, return your completed sheet to the learning commons and have your photo added to the wall of fame (and earn extra checkout privileges for the year)!
Look for the parent-child activity labels inside each book for reading activity ideas. Multiple copies of 2x2s are available for checkout at school and at the McKinney Public Library.
The 2x2 Reading List is a project of the Texas Library Association created to highlight great books for early readers. Each year a committee of librarians choose 20 new books recommended for children from age two to grade two to be featured on the reading list.

Looking for a good book?
Try reading a 2x2 Book from a past year.
The 2x2 list was first created in 2000, meaning there are hundreds of 2x2 books to choose from in the library. Look for the spine label stickers in the library, or view the reading lists online for more ideas. 2x2 books aren't just for little kids - these books make great choices for parents, teachers, and older students sharing books with reading buddies or younger siblings too.
