Leah Daggon

Hello! My name is Leah Daggon, and I am beyond excited to venture into my fourth year of teaching at Carroll Elementary. I previously taught fifth grade for two years and am in my second year teaching fourth grade. I grew up near Gainesville, Texas in a small rural town so I will forever be a country girl at heart. I ended up in Abilene, Texas attending college at McMurry University where I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education and was a proud member of their track team. Go War Hawks! In May, I actually finished my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at University of North Texas. As I instill a true love of learning in my students, I too have a growth mindset and am always eager to learn new things.

I have been married to my amazing husband Trevor for 2 years now (yes, still technically newly weds). We currently are parents to two amazing fur babies. We have a 4 year old maltese named Rover and a 5 month old baby boxer, named Nala. Believe it or not, it seriously feels like we have two children. They are spoiled too! If it’s one thing, I am being fully prepared for parenthood one day. Especially since tending to a baby boxer all summer who has kept me on my toes at all times. We love them to pieces!

This summer I decided to take it easy considering last summer kept me very busy with schooling. I did however work on lots of projects around my house. A hobby of mine is finding old and worn out pieces of furniture and turning it into a masterpiece. I find it to be exciting, fun, and relaxing. Aside from staying busy with projects, I lived at the pool, went to a waterpark with my family, saw Jason Aldean in concert, read two books, and completed a whole Netflix series. Like I said, I took advantage of a slow season in my life and feel more refreshed than I have in a long time.

In my spare time I love to travel (my favorite place to go is Tennessee), spend time my family, play with my pups, workout (or anything fitness related), get my nails done, eat delicious food, and shop till I drop.

I am beyond excited for this year and to truly get to know your kiddo! I am privileged to work with such an amazing team and staff here at Carroll Elementary. This year is going to be truly amazing!
