Welcome to the Friends of the Borders General Hospital website.
If you are looking for more information on being a Friend or just looking for a way to donate to this vital, local charity service in the beautiful Scottish Borders, then you are in the right place!
We are delighted to raise money for purchasing equipment, for patient and staff welfare and to increase local and regional (and beyond!) public interest in the hospital.

Our welcoming fundraising group is always open to new members and fresh ideas. There is no joining fee, and we realise that people have busy lives, so you can do as much or as little as you want.

Since our fundraising began 12 years ago, we have managed to donate half a million pounds to the hospital, affectionately known to Borders residents as 'the BGH'.

Some of the life changing equipment this money has contributed to includes:

An MRI scanner; a Kidney Dialysis machine; a scanner for Osteoporosis; rooms for relatives to stay overnight; significant contribution to the Margaret Kerr Unit; specialist beds, kitchen and porters' equipment; Stroke, Orthopaedic, Urology and Physiotherapy Departments' equipment; and a specialist
stretcher for Helicopter Transportation.

For current fundraising objectives please see our 'About Us' or 'Events' pages.
