Lesson 13
Fraction: a number that names a PART of a WHOLE
Denominator: the bottom number of a fraction; it tells the total number
of equal parts in a whole
Divide: to separate an amount into equal groups and find the number of
each group or the number of groups
Equivalent Fractions: two or more fractions that name the same part
of the whole
Numerator: the top number of a fraction; it tells the number of parts in
the whole that are being described

Compare: to decide if one number is greater than, less than, or equal to
another number
Greater Than >: a comparison of two numbers that says one has
greater value than the other 7 > 4
Less Than <: a comparison of two numbers that says one has less
value than the other 5 < 19
