    HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!

THURSDAY, JUNE 4, 2015

Congratulations to eighth graders Gianna Chiusano, Gaven Ferraro, and Emily Rothberg! The essays of these hardworking writers were selected as the top five entries in the Honor Our Veterans Contest sponsored by Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini.  Numerous sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students from throughout the 11th Legislative District submitted writing pieces, and only five were chosen as winners.  Amazingly, three are from Eisenhower Middle School!

Last Saturday, these worthy students, along with their families and teachers, visited Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst where they met the base commander, General Grant, and received signed proclamations from the New Jersey State Legislature.  Winners were also treated to a tour and family day of military-themed activities.

What a great honor it is not just win this contest but more importantly to take this opportunity to honor our veterans. Congratulations on your hard work, respect, and accomplishment, Gianna, Gaven, and Emily!!  :)

PENNY WAR  The Eisenhower Student Government and Words of Wisdom is partnering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of New Jersey to raise money that will support the early detection of childhood cancer in the Garden State. We have decided to host a Penny War (i.e. All donations will count as "positive" points; We accept American pennies, quarters, nickels, dimes, and American paper currency-$1 dollar, $5, $10, $20 bills and so on) for each grade, the Eisenhower Staff, and the Eisenhower families. For example, each dollar donated will net 100 positive points.
The grade that has the highest amount of donated money collected in the penny war containers will receive a double lunch. Special thanks to Mrs. Cross for this idea and for the support of our administrators, Ms. Brethauer and Mrs. Gambino.  The fundraiser has been extended to continue in the month of May ending on Friday, May 15th, 2015.

Let us continue to work hard to capitalize on the matching donation that we have received from Mr. Grady and his company, Paragon Global Markets, where he has so graciously offered to match up to $1,500 of what the Eisenhower Middle School collects.

Congratulations to eighth graders Gianna Chiusano, Gaven Ferraro, and Emily Rothberg!  The essays of these hard working writers were selected as the top five entries in the Honor Our Veterans Contest sponsored by Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini.  Numerous sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students from throughout the 11th Legislative District submitted writing pieces, and only five were chosen as winners.  Amazingly, three are from Eisenhower Middle School!
In May, these worthy students, along with their families and teachers, will visit Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehust where they will receive signed proclamations from he state legislature and be treated to a tour and family day of military-themed activities.
What a great honor it is not just to win this contest, but more importantly, to take this opportunity to honor our veterans.  Congratulations on your hard work, respect, and accomplishment, Gianna, Gaven, and Emily!!
