What's Happening:

February 10, 2020

Good afternoon! Here's what's going on in our room:

  • Reading/Science: We are working in small groups to research different ecosystems in Indiana. We will be presenting our research as news reports that we will be recording starting tomorrow. Some students have asked to dress up for their news reports. This is allowed, but not required.
  • Reading: We are also continuing to read A Girl of the Limberlost together. Today we began reading chapter 7.
  • Word Study: We will take the Unit/Lesson 13 Test tomorrow. Our next list will come home on Wednesday.
  • Social Studies: Today we read about how Indiana became a state. Our next topic will be Indiana's role in the Civil War.
  • 5th Grade Math: We corrected our Unit 6 tests today, wrapping up our study of decimals. Tomorrow we will begin Unit 5, multiplying and dividing fractions.
  • Valentine's Day: We will be having a Friendship Party on Friday at 1:30. I'm very late in planning for this, but if anyone would like to prepare a game or craft for us, that would be great! Since many Valentine's cards come with candy, I don't know that we need any extra treats that day. I have attached a list of student names to this email to help with addressing Valentines. Don't forget to send in a decorated box for your students as well. We already had 4 come to school today!
  • eLearning: Monday will be an eLearning Day. I have attached directions to this email in case you have questions or computer trouble. I will be checking in throughout the day as well.

Thank you for your amazing students!
