Mr. Livesey graduated from Kutztown University in 2003 with a degree in Electronic Media. This is Mr. Livesey's 20th year teaching in Franklin Lakes as the TV Studio/Video Production teacher for 7th and 8th, as well as 6th grade Digital Design.
The purpose of the Franklin Avenue Middle School TV Studio/Media program is to offer student exposure to computer technology, video editing, graphic design, TV production equipment, public speaking, research and writing.
The educational philosophy driving this curriculum will be centered on developing media production as another technological learning tool for students in the middle school level. The mass media is an integral part of the environment in which today’s students learn to read, write, listen, speak and make of their lives.
Media literacy changes how we perceive and appreciate the constructed reality we hear and see everyday. Media literacy allows us the confidence to use the technology as an artistic voice. These courses and related broadcast experiences in our studio will bring production understanding and offer powerful possibilities.
