BIO
Ms. Audino is so excited to be joining the Woodside Avenue family this year! Ms. Audino graduated from Montclair State University with her MA in School Counseling, in addition to her BFA in Dance. She spent many years teaching dance to students of all ages, enabling her to combine her passion for educating and helping others with her love of the arts. Ms. Audino has also worked as a nanny which she feels has helped prepare her immensely for her career as a supportive and nurturing school counselor. This is not Ms. Audino's first experience working in an elementary school, as she was both a school counseling intern and a Special Education paraprofessional, allowing her to work with students from Pre-K through fifth grade.

Teaching Philosophy

Ms. Audino loves incorporating creative therapies into her curriculum. In addition to talk therapy, she especially loves using play, music, movement, art, and sand therapies with her elementary students. Ms. Audino enjoys taking a creative approach to school counseling, and encourages her students to tap into that within themselves.
She takes a person-centered approach to counseling, remaining empathetic and open while actively problem solving with her students. One of Ms. Audino's goals as the Child Assistance Counselor is to foster independence within her students and provide them with the necessary tools in order for them to advocate for themselves.

Ms. Audino believes in practicing self-care, which she can't wait to teach her students about this year! Some of her favorite forms of self-care include: writing, listening to her favorite music, loudly singing along, dancing around the house, taking trips to the beach, shopping at HomeGoods, watching the Food Network, testing the recipes on said network, and then most likely eating them :)
