6th Grade Language Arts
Ms. Burnup is looking forward to another year at FAMS. This is her 8th year in the district as a 6th grade language arts teacher. She received her undergraduate degree in English and Secondary Education at Montclair State University, and she is now pursuing a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction through California Coast University. In addition to language arts, Ms. Burnup also values mindfulness and makes it a priority of hers to maintain an environment students find comfortable, safe, calm and exploratory. She absolutely loves being in the middle school setting and is very passionate about shaping students academically, socially and personally at this very important stage of their lives. When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys teaching and taking yoga, spending time with family and friends, reading, paddleboarding and traveling.
The district recognizes the importance of homework as part of the educational process and has adopted policy #61654 that establishes homework guidelines. Homework posted on this website is as up-to-date as practically possible, is subject to revision, and serves as a guide for students and parents.
*Please check Google Classroom and Google Calendar for important due dates regularly. Homework should always be written down or typed the beginning of class as a back-up.
