About Mrs. Behrens
Mrs. Behrens is excited to be teaching Art at FAMS for a third year. She has been an Art educator since September 2008. Mrs. Behrens received her BA in Studio Art with a concentration in Graphic Design from the University of Rhode Island and her Masters of Art in Teaching in Art Education from Sage Graduate School. She is passionate about Art and was inspired to be an Art Educator by her grandfather, who also began his career in Art Education. When Mrs. Behrens is not teaching, she can be found at home creating art, playing tennis or golf, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
The art classroom is a place for students to develop and uncover their artistic talents through a variety of mediums such as Digital Animation, Digital Art, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture and Mixed-Media. Each unit integrates art history and focuses on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. Mrs. Behrens will enable her students to gain the knowledge and master the skills needed to visually express their ideas and life experiences. Her goal is to provide a safe, creative environment that allows her students to grow as individuals and as artists.
