Welcome to Phys. Ed. and Health 2021-2022!
Dear Woodside Families,
Welcome to the new school year! I hope everyone had a wonderful, healthy, and relaxing summer. I can't wait to get back into the gym for all sorts of exciting games, fun activities, and new opportunities to learn about our health and wellness! To all of our new WAS families, I am Mr. Rose and I am the Physical Education and Health teacher here at Woodside.  Some of the thing we focus on in our class are the importance of living healthy and active lifestyles, learning how to be confident with ourselves as well as care for others, sportsmanship, team work, and building a strong community.
This year, like any other year, students will have my class twice a week. On your assigned P.E. days please be prepared with socks/sneakers, and active wear. Students who are not prepared will be assigned an alternate activity and I never want anyone to miss out on something really fun. We will be going outside as often as possible this year so please wear weather-appropriate attire.
I hope everyone is as excited as I am and I promise as long as you have fun, try your best, and be positive we are going to have another amazing and successful year!

Mr. Rose

Hello my name is Mr. Rose. I graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelors of Science in Health and Physical Education. I love competitive sports, coaching, and living an active lifestyle. Some of my hobbies are outdoor recreation such as hiking and fishing. I am a proud father of 3 daughters and love spending my time with them. I am so grateful to be teaching at Woodside Avenue School and will be using my knowledge to encourage my students to live a healthy and active lifestyle as well as being active members in our community.
Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy as a Physical Education teacher is to create a safe and positive atmosphere for my students to achieve their fitness goals. Through positive reinforcement, demonstration, my knowledge in physical fitness, and leading by example I encourage my students to feel confident when making healthy and safe life choices.
