ACT/SAT Testing and Preparation

Franklin High School students take the ACT Series tests in 9th and 10th grades (ASPIRE). All 11th graders take the ACT in the. Spring of each year.   We also offer the opportunity to take the PSAT in October to 10th and 11th graders.  

Students planning to attend college after high school typically take the ACT or the SAT during their Junior year.

Below are a few Test Prep options. The FHS Counseling Department does not endorse one program over another. It is up to the student and family to research the best option for you. This is not a comprehensive list of all programs available. 

ZAPS test Prep 

Several area schools offer an ACT prep class prior to the October ACT and in the Spring, including Franklin High School.  Log on to and click on the Wisconsin symbol to find classes in the area.  Classes meet at various times for a total of 5 hours. 

Private Colleges of Wisconsin

  Wisconsin Private Colleges & Universities offers this free online test prep. Look here for a list of recommended prep programs by Private Colleges of Wisconsin.  

 ACT Online Prep

Online unlimited test prep good for one year at a reasonable cost.

7 full-length practice tests for the ACT - Peterson’s ACT practice tests mimic the structure and timing of the actual ACT exam. Additionally, each section within the practice tests can be reviewed after the section is scored. While reviewing the sections, students will be presented with their results along with the correct answer and a detailed explanation of the problem.

 WCTCACT/SAT Prep classes

WCTC offers Saturday prep classes which focus solely on the ACT, SAT or both.  See the non-credit course section of their course booklet or webpage for more information. 
 UW-Waukesha ACT Prep 

UW-Waukesha offers ACT prep classes throughout the year.  Please call the Office of Continuing Education at 262-521-5460 for more information. 

Meets for seven consecutive Saturdays in spring or fall.  Two week summer session offered. 
 Revolution Test Prep & Academic Tutoring 

Revolution offers a range of test prep options.  Scholarships are available to offset costs. 
 Kaplan Test Prep 

Multiple test prep options.
