    Any Given Child

    Arts Education Grant

    Fowler Unified received the
Any Given Child Arts Grant through the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and Fresno County Office of Education to support arts education in grade TK-8 in Fowler Unified. As part of the grant, Fowler Unified has created a Community Arts Committee that includes teachers, parents, and community members. The committee has created a Vision for Arts Education in Fowler Unified; and is working on developing and implementing a plan to augment the visual and performing arts programs in grades TK-8. Part of developing this plan involves surveying the staff, students, parents and community regarding Arts Education in Fowler Unified School District. The committee’s next meeting schedule is Thursday, February 15th at 6:00PM in the Instructional Support Center (624 E. Adams, Fowler). In addition, we ask that you take a few minutes to complete this brief, on-line Any Given Child – Community Arts Survey

Fowler Unified has a long, excellent tradition with Visual & Performing Arts and is looking to augment, expand, and enhance the programs at each school site. If you are interested in becoming more involved with the Visual & Performing Arts Program in Fowler Unified, or would like to join the Community Arts Committee, please contact Yvonne Hernandez at the Fowler Unified School District Office at 559-834-6080.

    Vision for Arts Education-

Fowler Unified is committed to providing every student in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade access to meaningful arts instruction and experiences that promotes diversity, validates character, and connects to real life, through effective community partnerships.

  • Construction to Begin on Bond Projects

Construction will begin soon on a number of projects in Fowler Unified School District, highlighted by the new District pool at Fowler High School. Demolition and mobilization will start in late June on the new, 9-lane pool that is scheduled to be completed in April, 2018. The District’s All-Weather Track will be resurfaced this summer – adding new striping and painting – and new, energy-efficient lighting will be constructed at the track, replacing the current light poles. Construction of the new lights and poles should be finished in the fall.

The entire Sutter Middle School campus will be repainted in July – keeping with the same grey and red exterior colors – and the Fowler High School campus will have the exterior trim painted in July as well. In addition, Sutter Middle School and Fowler High School will be adding modular classrooms – two at each school – to manage increases in enrollment. Installation of the classrooms will take place over the summer months and will be ready for the start of the 2017/2018 school year. Funds from the recently passed Fowler Unified School Construction Bond, Measure “J” – along with state grant funds and developer fees – will be used to finance these projects.
