About the Foster CARE Closet

It is the desire of the Foster CARE Closet to show God's love to His children through the giving of clothes and other items to children who are in the foster care system.

Three little girls came to the home of the Esaus in March of 2006 with just the clothes they were wearing.  The clothes for the twins were out of season and the baby only came with the sleeper and diaper she was wearing.  Immediately there was a need for not only the appropriate clothing items, but also for items such as 3 car seats, baby items including bottles, diapers and wipes and formula.  The Esaus had been doing foster care long enough to realize that kids coming into care were often coming with only the things they were wearing.  As foster parents, the Esaus could see the up front costs of providing such clothing items as a barrier to not only a foster home saying yes to a placement, but also taking away from the immediate desire to meet the child's emotional needs.  Thus, the vision for the Foster CARE Closet was born.

Through the blessing of the Lord the Foster CARE Closet has grown each year in it's ability to meet the needs of children in the foster care system.  We have grown each year in the number of clients we serve and in our ability to provide new clothing and baby items.

We are excited to continue our journey in serving the foster care community in the state of Nebraska.
