SUGGESTIONS for a GREAT YEAR:

Ask your child daily about his/her school day.

Check your child’s backpack and sign folder daily.

Place any money sent to school in an envelope labeled with your child’s name and what it is for (ex. Snack, Lunch, Field Trip, etc.)

During homework sessions, please allow your child to work as independently as possible while offering your support.

Read with your child daily.

Please feel free to call or write with any questions or concerns.  Good teacher/parent communication is essential for your child to have a successful year at school.

SNACK

We do not sell snacks on a daily basis.  Students may bring a snack and/or drink to enjoy during their recess time.  However, students are not allowed to bring soft drinks.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

As supplies become depleted throughout the year, they will need to be replenished.  Also, there are additional items that we use in the classroom.  These items would be greatly appreciated if you are able to make donations.

Wish list: white copy paper, colored copy paper, white cardstock paper, headphones, Clorox wipes, Expo markers, Germ-X.

TRANSPORTATION

If there is a change in the way your child normally leaves school in the afternoon, please send a note.  Sending a verbal message with your child is not sufficient, nor accepted.  If you need to call the school to make a change, this needs to be done before 2p.m.  I am sorry for this inconvenience.

FOLDERS

Your child will take a folder to and from school daily.  When your child comes home from school each day, please review his/her daily papers, read any notes, check over homework and behavior.  Also, please check the newsletter on Monday and follow instructions as needed.  Return homework and any notes in this folder daily.  Please watch for test papers from the previous week.  Test papers need to be signed and returned ASAP.  Folders are vital for daily communication and assist in making sure your child's educational experience is as productive and beneficial as possible.
