Take Note

  • 2017 IS HERE!
    Can you believe it? It's 2017 already! I am excited about this second half of the school year. Here are a few things to look forward to: more use of our chromebooks, boost in AR goals and performance on AR quizzes, increased reading fluency and rate, more independent reading, and better development of writing. Look for AR progress with your child's graded papers each week. Please encourage your child to read at home and complete their Reading Log. I am attaching a copy of the reading log below.

    Monday: Wear Red Day
    Tuesday: Cap on Drugs, wear your favorite hat
    Wednesday: Sock it to Drugs, wear your silly socks
    Thursday: Favorite Hero, dress as your favorite hero
    Friday: Team-up Against Drugs, wear your favorite team jersey/t-shirt

  • Don't Forget...
    Report cards and field trip permission slips were sent home last Thursday. Those need to be signed and returned to your homeroom teacher ASAP.

    Also, reading fair projects are due on Oct. 31st. Students have chosen their books and are finishing up on the planning process. Student planning sheets are in Google Drive. Students are expected to create a board display, but they do not have to enter the competition.

  • Personal Narrative is due this Friday
    We have been pulling our personal narratives together and will make the finishing touches this week. We are using an online storytelling platform called Storybird. Your child can access this account at home, so you can see what they have been working on. While we will be dedicating much of our time this week completing our narratives in class, your child may benefit from adding to it at home.
