FRCS Middle School

Where can I read my novel online?  See above at Gutenberg.org for free books online.  Or do a Google search for the title of your book and pdf.

This website is meant to help students and families stay informed, and organized.  Please email me at mdj@forestranchcharter.org if you have any questions.  Also, if you have not had the chance to meet me, I would love to schedule a time to get together after school in my classroom to get to know one another.

This Week in the 6/7/8th Grade:

Upcoming events:   All grades have an expository essay due this Friday, 1/26/24.  They have rubrics for the essay.  Please talk to your student about this and help ensure that they complete it on time.  If you have questions about the requirements please email me. mdj@forestranchcharter.org

English Language Arts: Students have assigned novels and weekly assignments pertaining to their novels.  A summary of what they read during the week is due each Friday.  They also have quizzes on their reading each Friday.  Students are also writing expository essays as mentioned above.

Math: Randal teaches 8th grade math (Math C).  Math A and B are on chapter 6. Students will have homework about 2-3 times a week. Check your student's planner for homework, Monday through Thursday.

History:  6th grade began our 3rd unit: Ancient Greece. It's loaded with fun activities, reading and questions based upon textual reading.  This week we are learning about the geography of Ancient Greece, as well as the timeline.

Science:  6th grade is with Randal.  7/8 is learning about rocks, minerals and erosion.  We are using our science time to also practice our play "And Then There was One."  This play is a spoof on the novel students read, "And Then There was None."  We are shooting for a Valentine's Day performance.  I will send out an announcement via email soon.
