NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Board of Directors of Area Education Agency 267 will conduct a public hearing in the gym at the Crystal Lake School, 120 5th Street East, Crystal Lake, Iowa at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, April 4, 2012.
The subject matter of the public hearing is the Petition for Reorganization seeking the merger and consolidation of the Forest City Community School District and the Woden-Crystal Lake Community School District to be known as the Forest City Community School District. A copy of said Petition is on file in the office of the Chief Administrator of Area Education Agency 267, Administrative Services Building, 3722 Cedar Heights Drive, Cedar Falls, IA 50613, and is available for examination by the public between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday during the weeks prior to said hearing.
This proposed Petition for Reorganization and this public hearing regarding same are governed by Iowa Code Section 275.12-275.16.
Objections to the said merger and consolidation as prayed for in said Petition may be made by any person residing or owning land within the territory described in said Petition, or who would be injuriously affected by the changes petitioned for. Said objections shall be in writing on forms which may be obtained in said office of the Chief Administrator of Area Education Agency 267 or from Kerri Wilson, board secretary at email@example.com, during the hours set forth above. Objection forms that request that property be removed from the proposed merger and consolidated district shall include the correct legal description of the property to be removed. Forms are also available from the superintendent’s offices at Forest City and Woden-Crystal Lake.
Such objections must be filed in the office of the Chief Administrator of the Area Education Agency 267 in the Administrative Services Building, 3722 Cedar Heights Drive, Cedar Falls, IA 50613, not later than 12:00 noon on Friday, March 30, 2012.
All interested parties are invited to attend this hearing at which time petitioners and objectors may present evidence and arguments thereon.
