Conference Theme

The 2015 FCBD International Conference will be held from 23 to 25 May, 2015 at Cairo university conference center, Cairo University, Egypt.

Conference Theme: Interdisciplinary Business Research: Interfaces, Integration, and Breakthrough extensions

An interdisciplinary business research is a field of study that crosses traditional boundaries between disciplines or schools of thought; e.g. Business Administration, Anthropology, Physics, Biology, and Economics. Interdisciplinary research basic concern is integration: ideas, data and information, methods, tools, concepts, and/or theories from two or more disciplines are synthesized, connected, or blended to answer a question, solve a problem, or address a topic that is too broad or complex to be dealt with adequately by a single discipline. As the real business world is multi-disciplinary in nature, and it often requires understanding of diverse disciplines to solve real-world business problems.

Pragmatic business displines has made significant contributions through offering business perspectives on other disciplines' phenomena and variables without equally drawing on other disciplines to shed novice light on business phenomena and variables. On the other hand, dogmatic business can capitalize on other disciplines' theories and constructs to produce really new and genuine insights and extensions of theoretical business propositions and conceptual frameworks.

Therefore, the Business Administration Department’s 2015 international conference intends to provide the following:

1.     A platform for sharing and exchanging experiences and insights on the philosophy of interdisciplinary business research.

  1. An opportunity to deliberate upon and set the research agenda for interdisciplinary research in business.
  2. A signpost of intellectual contributions providing a coherent view on impact of interdisciplinary business research in emerging markets.
