The ideal candidate for this volunteer position will be a
 positive and professional person to cover the school’s front office 
during the after school program timeframe (3:30-5:30 pm).  
This volunteer position helps to create a pleasant and safe environment for our 
youth programs, held at the Sheldon Elementary School during our after school time on Monday through Thursday (or any combination of those days, one day or all four days).   

Duties are flexible but can include while stationed sitting at a desk or standing in the school’s front office area:
greeting parents and staff  as they enter the building, directing them as needed, 
sitting with a child while waiting for their parent to arrive
answering the phone directing parent or staff phone inquiries

This position is at the Sheldon School during the weeks that the after school program is operating (30 weeks during school year ~ not operating during school vacation breaks). 
For any candidates interested in volunteering more hours, 
there are additional opportunities available to expand the position to include 
other volunteering at the school (Reading Buddy 3:30-4:00 pm and/or help the school librarian with restacking books and other library activities 1:30-3:30).

Assisting the Crossroads Site Coordinator, Team Leaders are present during the 
after school program time frame of 2:45 - 5:15pm, assisting with
snack distribution, 5pm bus dismissal, check in on after school classes for teacher needs,
substitute for staff absences, help set up class materials, assist with field trip coverage.
Looking for an all around helper.


New position for our Highgate Crossroads After School Program.  

After School Youth Worker - 32 weeks during school year, Monday through Thursdays, 2:45 to 5:15pm or 3:30 to 5:15pm daily.
Assisting After School Coordinator with behavior management and intervention with youth in grades 2 through 6.

Looking for a person with strong behavior management and intervention skills and experience, as well as the ability to instruct other after school staff in strategies and techniques for classroom and small group management.
