FMPSD Learning Bridge
The focus of FMPSD learning support/tutoring program is to provide support for students who may have been impacted academically as a result of the wildfire in Fort McMurray. The intent of this program is to bridge learning from the last school year to this school year.
The four spring sessions will take place on the Saturday mornings of April 22nd and 29th and May 6th and 13th from 10 am - 12 noon.
Space will be limited to availability of teachers.
Grade 1 - 6 will focus on enhancing literacy and numeracy skills.
Grades 7 - 9 will focus on core subject remediation, including math, sciences, and English Language Arts.
High School Sessions will be offered at Westwood Community High School. The spring sessions for high school courses will not be offered on Saturdays, but during the school week from 5 - 7 pm. Further registration information for high school sessions will be made available once staffing and dates have been confirmed.
Through a generous donation from the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 165, Fort McMurray Public School District is able to provide certificated staff. We appreciate this generous support for our students and for Doing What's Best for Kids in Fort McMurray Public School District.
A registration fee of $20 for the four spring learning support sessions will be applied.
Learning Bridge - Spring Sessions- Back by Popular Demand
Fort McMurray Public School District (FMPSD) Learning Bridge is a learning support/tutoring program offered to the students of Fort McMurray Public School District. This program is in response to feedback from community meetings and parent concerns that children may need additional support to increase student success, achievement and bridge learning gaps.
During our Fall and Winter sessions close to 400 students received learning support. We are pleased to be able to offer this program to students of Fort McMurray Public School District.
