Sister Mary Phillips

My name is Didi Grandjambe and I am the FNMI (First Nations, Metis, Inuit) Liaison at Sister Mary Phillips School.

I was raised in Fort McMurray since I was young and went to Father Turcotte, St. John's and Father Mercredi High Schools and graduated in 2000. I am Cree; my family originates from Saskatchewan and here in Fort McMurray. I have four children who are all in the Catholic School District and we reside just north of Fort McMurray in Fort McKay.

This is my second year as the FNMI Liaison at Sister Mary Phillips School. I was a welder by trade, however, I love being able to be involved with children and helping them grow through learning.

As an FNMI Liaison in school, I offer my support in all classrooms and help to assist the teachers on educating about our culture and traditions whether it be a story and craft, bringing in performers/presenters or an Elder. I also offer my support to families through home visits, phone calls and emails and welcome you to stop by for coffee and a chat especially if you have any questions or concerns I can be reached  by email didi.grandjambe@fmcsd.ab.ca or by contacting the school at (780)799-5720

Updates of any special events will be posted on our website calendar and you are more than welcome to volunteer your time, knowledge/gifts/talents.
