I've been working as the FNMI Liaison for 11 years, I was born in Fort McMurray (St.Gabriel Hospital) however raised in Fort Chipewyan by my late loving MUM (Jennie Flett), married over 20 years, I have 5 children (young adults) and 4 grandchildren....my family is my rock...

We take great pride in recognizing, celebrating, and sharing the culture of our Aboriginal Students.
Its very important to honor and recognize our Aboriginal culture in our schools. It builds a sense of belonging, identity, gives students an opportunity to be proud of their language and cultural. As well it builds sense of community within and outside of the school while engaging parents and local community members. One of roles is to identify our FNMI students within the school. We collaborate with Admin and staff. We promote academic achievement. We strive to ensure student attendance/academic success, We even do home visits, and advocate for our Aboriginal families and students. Home visits maintain the connection and communication between parents/teachers and myself as the FNMI Liaison.
