Cathy Graham
Meet the teacher:
My husband, Tony, and I married in 1992 and are enjoying raising our three wonderful children. Tony is an Assistant Principal at Rockport High School. Our oldest son, Austin, graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Digital Entertainment and Graphic Design and has been working as a software developer at USAA in Plano, Texas. McKenzie is a Theatre Arts teacher at Little Elm High School. She received her Theater Arts degree at Stephen F. Austin. Zachary is an eighth grader at the Flour Bluff Intermediate. He enjoys playing tennis, baseball, disc golf, and soccer.
After graduating from Flour Bluff High School, I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and my master's degree in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Technology Integration at the University of North Florida. I taught for ten years in private Christian schools in Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Texas in 2010 and beginning my adventure at Flour Bluff Intermediate. I have taught third, fourth, and fifth grade. Fifth grade is my favorite! I love teaching English/Language Arts as I am an avid reader and desire for all of my students to leave my room at the end of fifth grade saying how much they love to read. This will be my 22nd year teaching, eleven of which have been in fifth grade ELA at Flour Bluff. I am also the Drama Club sponsor at the Intermediate.

Welcome to 5th Grade,
I am looking forward to meeting each of you. This will be an exciting adventure together in 5th grade.
Some things to look forward to doing in class are: novel studies, book talks, poetry units, play performances, etc.
Each night, please be reading an independently selected book. Good readers are people who spend time enjoying good books. Read, read, and read some more. The only other homework will be studying for Spelling and Vocabulary tests. Before each Six Weeks Assessment, you will see a study guide or practice passage come home for review.
For additional learning opportunities, be sure to visit my "Helpful Links" page on the left side of my web page.
I can't wait to meet you.
Love,
Mrs. Graham
